DANCE WITH ME - Ages 1-2.5

Our Dance with Me program was developed to introduce dance to children from 12 months to 2.5 years to ease them into the world of dance and music.  The "With Me" part of it means that your little one will need an adult (mom, dad, gram, auntie, nanny, etc) with them to help them participate in class - to help them learn how to follow the teacher, to help them learn how to take a class and how to patiently wait their turn.  The class is 30 minutes long and will be limited to 12 students (and their "with me's").

TINY TOTS Combo – Ages 2-3, 3-4, 4-5

TAP/JAZZ Combo – Ages 6-7
This one-hour combination dance class focuses on getting dancers ready for the upper level lessons in specific styles of dance. Kindergarten and 1st Grade dancers continuing on from our Tiny Tots Preschool Dance Combo Program will continue to build upon their prior knowledge in a positive, safe and fun  environment.  The tap dance portion of this class will focus on developing patterns and rhythms based off of the vocabulary previously learned. The jazz dance portion of the class will be focused on helping dancers develop and improve flexibility, balance skills, and learning high-energy combinations.

BALLET – Ages 6-7
In this one-hour ballet dance class, dancers will be given training in one of the most fundamental disciplines of dance. Dancers will learn proper technique and ballet vocabulary through barre work, progressions across the floor and center exercises.

BALLET
Ballet is a fundamental discipline in the art of dance. Ballet dancers benefit from beginning ballet training at an early age. Ballet teaches dancers to find their center, gain flexibility and develop a focus that will help in all other subjects. Class curriculum includes a proper warm-up, barre exercises, progressions across the floor and center floor combinations. As dancers advance through each level the curriculum will become more complex and intricate.

JAZZ
Jazz classes focus on learning proper technique that will improve flexibility, completing complex combinations, and performance quality. While the style of jazz is a broad term, students will learn a variety of jazz styles such as Broadway and Contemporary. Class curriculum will include a proper warm-up consisting of stretches and isolations, progressions across the floor and center floor combinations. As dancers advance through each level the curriculum will become more complex and intricate.

TAP
Tap classes will focus on rhythmic and percussive movements in a variety of styles such as Broadway and Rhythm tap. Tap dance teaches music theory, the ability to count music percussively and to create rhythms using your feet. Exercises learned will not only create rhythms but also help coordination, improve knee and ankle strength and flexibility, and speed of movement. As dancers advance through each level the curriculum will become more complex and intricate.

LYRICAL
Lyrical classes implement ballet and jazz techniques. Classes will focus on free-flowing, graceful movement that follows the emotional expression of music. Dancers will be given the opportunity to develop poise, posture, and to express themselves in this style of dance. As dancers advance through each level the curriculum will become more complex and intricate.

CONTEMPORARY
Contemporary classes focus on allowing the dancers to express themselves and create unique visions through movement. Jazz, ballet and lyrical techniques provide a foundation for the contemporary style. Class curriculum consists of warm-up with stretching and isolations, floor work, combinations, and improvisational techniques. As dancers advance through each level the curriculum will become more complex and intricate.

TURNS AND LEAPS
In this class, dancers will be given the opportunity to develop and improve upon a variety of tricks and skills. It is suggested that if enrolled in the Turns and Leaps course you also take a Jazz and Ballet class to supplement. As dancers advance through each level the curriculum will become more complex and intricate.

CONDITIONING
In this class, dancers will be pushed to stretch, build muscle, strengthen and improve stamina through a variety of repetitive exercises. Dancers will also increase their awareness of their body’s potential. The training completed in this class will support all styles of dance.

MUSICAL THEATRE
Musical theatre classes will focus on the art of telling a story through song and dance. Dancers will explore a great variety of dance styles seen in Broadway shows. This class will have an emphasis on performance quality, especially audience connection, storytelling and facial expressions.

ADULT TAP
Adult dance classes are a great way to stay in shape while in a fun and friendly environment. Adult tap dance classes will focus on how to articulate your feet and ankles while also exploring musicality, rhythm and syncopation.  You will have the opportunity to exercise both your mind and body while learning fun combinations to a variety of music genres.
